It's been a long time since we did a big hop blend on a beer! We usually like to keep the hops to a single or pair when creating our beers, as it’s the best way to showcase a hops profile. With that being said, It's always fun to mix things up so, Freddie and I raided the freezer to do some hop smelling and blending to create something special for this weeks release!

Individual hop characteristics can often get lost when you add loads of different hops to a beer and things can sometimes become a little muddled. For this reason, it's important when you create a blend to choose hops that aren't too contrasting and can easily gel together. For this IPA blend, we chose Bru-1 to give us some of those fantastic Pineapple notes that everyone loves. We backed this up with Citra T90 and Citra Cryo, the former giving a more complex tropical profile and the latter giving cleaner and brighter tropical notes. Nelson Sauvin adds the white grape and peach vibe to this fruit salad party and Simcoe Cryo really amplifies the fruitiness of the beer but also adds some gentle piny notes. As you can imagine, all the hops blend really well together! Freezer Raid has been given our usual IPA treatment along with using the new WHC Saturated yeast.
